The work However stems from an exploration of the interaction between autobiographical memories of familiar places and the changing use and design of public space. As a child this fountain was a landmark which announced we were entering the city. Completed in the late 1960s, this relic of modernism seems to go unnoticed by passersby.
The video shows the fountain at the precise minute it begins to spray water in the early morning, a rarely witnessed but euphoric moment.

The work also exists as an edition of 2 x 50 postcards, sent with two weeks in between.
