An aesthetic formulation that deals with space, form and color. With a minimum of elements and poor materials a sensitive experience is evoked. The work was made in Narva (Estonia). Geographically but also politically and economically the video expresses – through a poetic, playful act – a decay of that region.

Narva used to be an important industrial city which was part of the Soviet Union. Now it is a border town where after the closing of the Kreenholm textile factory lots of people left.
Interested in the remoteness of the city and its effect on people’s routines and the rhythm of the place, I observed and filmed.
In the large empty rooms of the residency space – a former house of the director of the textile factory – I brought together different elements in an installation, working with the few objects, furniture and left-over food I could find.

Made during a one-month residency at NART, Narva (Estonia).
